Just a quick blurb from yesterday, Karen Webb and myself did a female pair team at the 12hr in Penrith yesterday and are now very sore state champs! Webby started off with a 3hr stint and covered the first 75km in 1 hr 45 - this has now bought a whole new meaning to the world of pain. Cry
I went out for the next 3 hr stint and at 55km 2 gentlemen kindly decided to lay down right in front of my bike - NOTE... I would now like to have "princess" kindly removed from my nicknames.
As a true lady should I rode straight over his mid section, did a somersault, busted up my face and landed on my back. Another kind gentleman who was following my line decided that ladies first was a good decision as he crashed into me! laugh
I have been told I am now a fully qualified roadie as my face is a mess, bark off hip, shoulder, elbow and knee and shoulder doesn't move too well. wounded
After a quick and unsuccessful tidy up, with Webby cursing I had only done half of my first duties surprise, managed to get back on my trusty bike (not much damage at all - rumour is that you protect the bike with our body) and head out for another couple of rounds.
A bit disappointed that I didn't do my 6hrs but managed 160km in just under 5hrs - Webby did the 7hrs and clocked close to 300km
Congrats to a 4 man team from Newcastle who won their catagory and overall
Also to Rossi Hayter and Matt Brown who came 3rd in the mens pairs. yes

And battle scars to boot wounded

I'm sure if you had been on a Cervelo that accident would've occurred in your rear view laugh

Congrats to you and Karen!

I work with Dean Meagher (not sure about speiling of surname) - he was in the team that won outright!

He is also helping a TTC member with his Ironman prep (bike only) this TTC bloke will rip up the Ironman course and NO it is not me!!!

Dean M is an animal on the bike - I was in the bunch talking to him just before the get off. His team were doing 1hr stints as hard as possible - awesome to be a very tiny part of that, didn't know whether to love or be terrified of how fast they go scared
